Year-end Gratitude Christmas Celebration at College of Chinese Medicine on Dec. 25, 2023
The College of Chinese Medicine held a warm and pleasant Christmas Celebration on the evening of December 25th, 2023.
The Year-end Gratitude Christmas Celebration in 2023 officially began after Dean of the College of Chinese Medicine Hung-Rong Yen lit up the star on the Christmas tree, symbolizing "to deliver happiness and ignite hope." In addition to the international students studying at the College of Chinese Medicine, many professors were invited to attend the event, including Vice President Lu-Hai Wang, Dean Hung-Rong Yen, Vice Dean Yi-Hung Chen, Director Yu-Chen Lee of Graduate Institute of Acupuncture Science, Professor Wen-Te Chang of Department of Chinese Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chinese Medicine Resources, Professor Yuan-Shiun Chang, Professor Hui-Chi Huang, and Deputy Director Peter Karl Mayer of International Master Program in Acupuncture. Many professors who were unable to attend the event also provided Christmas gifts and prizes, allowing the international students to feel the Christmas atmosphere and the sincere care of the College of Chinese Medicine.
The Year-end Gratitude Christmas Celebration this year was hosted by Peggy Wang and Joyce Chi, the administration staff at the College of Chinese Medicine, in both Chinese and English. All the staff from the office of the College of Chinese Medicine, University Social Responsibility Project (USR) and Bilingual Education Program (ie. EMI) put up the decorations and made props. The College of Chinese Medicine also prepared delicacies for all the international students, professors and staff to enjoy.
The Christmas Celebration this year was attended by the international students from, but not limited to, the United States, Vietnam, Pakistan, Indonesia, Chile, Malaysia, Singapore, and Mongolia. Paul, a family physician from the United States, has participated in the event for the second year. He will graduate next year and cherished the opportunity to get together with his classmates. Tran Van Bao Quach (Theresa), a traditional medicine doctor from Vietnam, also participated in the event for the first time with her husband and child. During this Christmas holiday, everyone felt the full warmth and care of all the professors and staff of the College of Chinese Medicine.
Three fun Christmas games were carefully designed by the staff of the College of Chinese Medicine, which were "Bingo!", "Ping pong!" and "Good Luck!". The concepts of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture points were integrated into the games. The game time was full of laughter and joy, and even the professors formed teams to compete with the students.
Until the end of the Christmas Celebration, Dean Yen carefully confirmed if each student and staff member received a gift. This Christmas, all the international students, professors and staff who participated in the event must have taken the full joy home.
